EOPS Student Responsibilities

  1. Enroll at 91³Ô¹Ï in at least 12 active units (as a full-time student), or in at least 6 active units (as an OSS student). Complete at least 9 of the 12 units (as a full-time student), complete at least 6 units (as an OSS student), maintain a grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.0 or as specified by an EOPS counselor.
  2. Follow the developed educational plan and consult with an EOPS counselor before adding and/or dropping a class.
  3. Complete three mandatory contacts with an EOPS counselor every semester (spring and fall). EOPS students are required to complete a 60-minue appointment with an EOPS Counselor. The 60-minuete appointment must be completed before the 30-minute appointment. The sequence can be changed if the 60-minute appointment is before the 30-minute appointment. EOPS students may see an EOPS Counselor as needed beyond the three required contacts. One contact may be completed with an EOPS Intern.
  4. Request tutoring if I have difficulty with Math and/or English as soon as possible.
  5. Notify the Admissions Office when personal data such as name, mailing address, email address, or phone number have changed.
  6. Respect and abide by all EOPS and college standards for appropriate conduct and community behavior.
  7. I understand that financial assistance received from EOPS cannot be given to another student or sold for personal gain. Students engaging in this behavior will be exited from EOPS.
  8. 91³Ô¹Ï EOPS services are based on a student’s financial need and available funding. Some services may be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  9. 91³Ô¹Ï EOPS/CARE/NextUp grant disbursements may be affected if you owe any outstanding balance to Los Angeles City College.
  10. If I do not meet the above MRC requirements, I must meet with an EOPS Counselor/Intern to discuss available options, including but not limited to, discussing the EOPS appeal policy and/or reapplying to the EOPS program.
  11. I will show respect to others through my use of EOPS CANVAS, social media, my behavior in the EOPS/CARE and Foster Youth programs, and Los Angeles City College events. Failure to do so may result in the loss of all EOPS benefits and a referral to the Dean of Student Life for disciplinary action.

I UNDERSTAND THAT I MAY REMAIN EOPS ELIGIBLE UNTIL I HAVE:

  • Completed 70-degree applicable units or 90-degree applicable units (for academic majors that are deemed high unit majors at 91³Ô¹Ï) in any combination of postsecondary higher education institutions.
  • I understand and agree to comply with the 91³Ô¹Ï EOPS MRC. I further understand that failure to meet the terms of the mutual responsibility contract may result in a loss of all EOPS services and dismissal from the program.
  • No financial need as determined by Financial Aid may result in you no longer qualifying for the EOPS program.
